After working on Generative Video Codec for more than a decade, latakoo’s scientist Richard Metzler was stunned to win NAB’s top Tech Award 2025.
“It’ll kick in at some point and I’ll be like, ‘What just happened? Did that really happen to me in my life?’” Dr. Metzler, latakoo scientist and director of federal projects, said.
The National Association of Broadcasters honored latakoo with the 2025 NAB Technology Innovation Award for inventing Generative Video Codec (GVC) on April 7, 2025.
