CRITTENDEN, Ky. (latakoo)—Imagine being an athlete training towards your goals, showing up to practice mid-season, and your coach is missing in action. That’s the scenario high school athlete Zachary Mirones, 17, found himself adjusting to during the Spring of 2024. Neither he nor his coach flinched in this situation; they turned to latakoo for a resolution.
Mirones began training for the discus throw event for track and field three years ago. He never imagined he and his coach would need cloud services technology for instruction.
Throwing events are highly technical and challenging to learn. After countless hours of training in the snow, rain, wind, and heat, he has become an athlete who needs hyperfocused instruction from a coach who can immediately see what parts of his movement need adjusting.
“My discus coach was not there, so we both had latakoo, so I went live on latakoo, and he coached through the live stream,” Mirones said.
Mirones streamed live to the cloud while his coach gave immediate feedback in real time using the commenting section on the platform. latakoo automatically transcribed the practice and saved the clip on Zach’s phone and in the cloud.
“After, it’s saved and recorded so we can go back and look at film instead of trying to screen record, which is just a hassle,” said Mirones. “latakoo helped me keep my training on track.”
The results? Mirones stuck to his training, and latakoo helped him reach his goals.
